Well, it turns out that my passport, awesome notebook and pen with a pressurized ink cartridge have been found after the hectic move that was my last break- and I'm also getting my XBOX power cable, so I just might be tempted to play a bit of halo occasionally =P.
A few days ago I thought that I was really just straight-up screwed for this week with regards to academic work, but it just seems like putting a bit of extra time in here and there has brought me back up to speed on everything. While I didn't like the feeling of looming work, it is somewhat nice to have it off after feeling it for so long- a "now-that-it's-over" sort of thing . . . except it's not quite over, but oh well.
I decided to update since I have been remarkably productive this morning (waking up at 8:30 to work when I don't have class until 12:30), so I'm sitting here ignoring "On the Affinities and Genealogy of Man". While I didn't stay for the entire lecture yesterday as I had to be in the library at 20:00, I was struck by the fact that I would really enjoy watching a history channel series on the subject, but wasn't overly-enthusiastic about the speech itself. It's true that it had many small anecdotes and other small items of supporting evidence, but it's not really much that one couldn't conclude by his/herself. I mean, I obviously have no perspective of the exponential progress of technological development- I only have to work with the occasional win95/98 machine and hear stories every time I talk to my parents about increasing computer power (like they use it or honestly follow it anyways).
Life is good, and it would be a LOT worse without freshman- it's really nice to have such an expansion of one's acquaintence base. Things like getting to know a lot more people are just interesting and appealing all-around. Love you guys!
